Something about this blog

I just found out that there are 4 subscriptions for this blog and that I (only) post about 2.1 posts/week. Hmmm... hearing this I get a bit ambitious. Only 4 subscribers? Really? On the other hand this blog was started as a kind of ... well... description of what I'm doing when I went abroad. Talking about my experiences abroad, showing funny pictures and yes, talking about coffee culture - I admit it! Reading now other blogs I realize that most of them are anonymous. This obviously gives the blogger more space, it's easier to rant about something or someone if you're anonymous. And I guess it's much more fun to do so without wondering if you're ever going to be caught. But I also think that if you really want to find out who a blogger is, you will find out. I don't think it's that hard. So why then not just blog in person? All of you know who I am and what I think... and I guess that's fine like that. But writing this post also makes me think why I actually blog. Well, I think the incentives are still pretty much the same. Sharing thoughts, ideas and fascinations. Pointing out weird little thingies (if I find them) and sharing a little bit what I think. And so a comment to those 4 subscribers (whoever you are): you are very welcome here and I'm glad that you're interested in what I'm writing! And thanks for commenting. Because I think that's what it is all about... sharing thoughts! (^_^)

I don't understand anonymous blogging anyway! (unless while I was in Iran writing about politics and wanted to be free and safe enough in expressing my ideas)

Yes! Sharing thoughts. It's exactly what this place is about, and though might not be subscribed here(!), I usually try to leave my comments as much as I can...

I'm a subscriber of course :-)

I think blogging anonymously can make you feel more able to express certain stuff, knowing that not just anyone who knows you will be reading your blog. Of course, someone who tries hard enough will find it anyway, but then I always felt, if anyone's that desperate, let them... ;-)

PS: how did you find out how many subscriptions you've got?

hi vicky!

to your question: I entered my blog address in google reader and there I could find out how many subscriptions I have and how many post/week I produce. (^_^)

Oh cool, thanks for the tip! Fascinating! I've got 13 subscribers, except that's probably counting me too, so make that 6. And I write 5.4 posts a week. But your posts are more intelligent than mine... :-)
